July 6-9, 2026, the beautiful Provençal city of Arles hosted the renowned Rencontres d’Arles international photography festival. Our colleague, solutions journalism trainer and mentor Lucie Černá, was invited by the VII Foundation to speak on a panel exploring Solutions Visual Journalism.
Together with photographers Pablo Tosco and Patrick Gaillardin, Lucie explored what it means to bring a solutions lens to visual journalism – documenting not only the challenges communities face, but also the responses already making a difference. The panel also examined how an evidence-based, image-led approach complements traditional visual reporting, bringing audiences closer to stories of resilience, innovation, and positive change.
