Taktak Project

Welcome to

Taktak Project

The TakTak project was a donation solution backed by the European Commission. It aimed to create a new revenue stream for news media and independent journalists through collaborative reader donations for individual news articles.

A tool was being developed with a technology partner to trigger donations on a per-article basis, with the possibility for the revenue to be split among journalists and publishers and for readers to choose the distribution.

The goal was to diversify revenue streams to confront issues of income instability for young journalists and to ensure the production of high-quality journalism through collaboration to strengthen the relationships between independent journalists and news publishers.
