Meet Your Guides:

Session #1: “Mastering News Literacy: Tested Approaches That Work”

Date & Time: Thu 9th May, 3 PM – 5 PM CET

Trainer: Jaroslav Valuch

Focus: Equip yourself with the tools for evaluating media sources, fact-checking, debunking, prebunking and extending help to those impacted by misinformation.

Jaroslav Valuch has over 15 years of experience in media literacy, strategic communication, and countering disinformation. His work, which blends academic insight with practical application, extends to consulting for various regions, governments, NGOs, journalists, and fact-checkers globally. He is a top expert in crisis communication and anti-hate speech initiatives.

Session #2: “AI Practically: Enhancing Information Navigation and Disinformation Debunking with AI Tools”

Date & Time: Thu 16th May, 3 PM – 5 PM CET

Trainer: Tomáš Titěra

Focus: Discover how AI can be leveraged to clarify truth and refine communication, especially for reaching and supporting minority and vulnerable groups.

Tomáš Titěra, holding a Master’s in New Media Studies, is a pioneer at the intersection of education and digital innovation. As a teacher and technology expert, he has led the way in utilizing AI to combat misinformation. His approach provides fresh, effective strategies for tackling digital challenges.

Session #3: “Mindful Media: Empowering Audiences through Media Literacy and Neuroscience”

Date & Time: Mon 20th May, 3 PM – 5 PM CET

Trainers: Diana Filimon and Allen Arthur

Focus: Merge the insights of media literacy with neuroscience to educate and empower, understanding the cognitive effects of misinformation.

Diana Filimon, CEO and founder of the Forum Apulum Association, focuses on empowering youth with digital literacy and critical thinking. A key figure in the Digital Communication Network Global, she drives initiatives that educate and engage young people across various regions.

Allen Arthur combines journalism expertise with neuroscience insights to address media’s societal impact. His engagement work with the Solutions Journalism Network and diverse communities, including incarcerated individuals, enriches his approach to media literacy and solutions-focused reporting.
