Level Up: Levelling Up Media Literacy Education for Older Europeans through Gamification
The Level Up Project is an innovative educational project aimed at enhancing media literacy among older Europeans by using engaging, game-based learning methods. In view of the increased vulnerability of seniors to misinformation and disinformation online, the project empowers participants with the skills needed to critically navigate today’s complex digital landscape. By incorporating gamification into its approach, the initiative makes learning accessible, interactive, and enjoyable for older adults.
The project addresses a pressing need across Europe: to close the digital literacy gap among older populations and enable them to participate confidently and safely in online spaces. Through targeted workshops, learning activities, and a collaborative online platform, Level Up equips participants with tools to assess digital content, identify manipulative narratives, and share learned strategies with peers.
